Harvest Time Tabernacle was founded in June of 1978 by Founding Pastor’s Brad & Joy Broussard. The Broussards are honored today for laying the foundation for a fruitful work here in Abbeville. They have been longstanding friends and still today serve as members of Harvest Time.
Pastors Robert & Estelle Wells, our current pastors, arrived at Harvest Time in August of 1982 with just a handful of people (13 to be exact). They left behind a thriving life and ministry in New Orleans, LA to answer the call of God. Pastor Wells had no doubt that this was where he belonged after hearing God speak to his heart that, “this would be his harvest”. That was all it took for them to pack up their newly purchased home and head west to a small city called “Abbeville”.
And what a harvest it has continued to be! Over the last 28 yrs, Harvest Time has grown from 13 to over 400 members. This local body has been a beacon of hope to hundreds of people over the years holding to our calling as “A Spiritual Hospital for Hurting People”.
Today we are pressing full speed ahead. We are more focused on reaching people with the love of Christ than ever before. ”It’s all about souls” is a common phrase heard from our pulpit. We are expecting a greater move of God with each year growing more pivotal. With fresh goals and vision, we will see a new generation rise up and take leadership and ownership of the of the Vision of God for Harvest Time!
